Sungei Piah Group of Companies history began more than 20 years ago. From minor contract works like drainage and road, the Company's breakthrough came when we secured part of Sungei Piah Hydro Electric Project in 1989.
In 1990, Sungei Piah Engineering Works secured the infrastructure works for the development of Kinta Free Trade Zone in Ipoh where current large MNC like Bromma, Yamaha and many others are currently located.
The group's first mining contract came from the Associated Pan Malaysia Cement (APMC), currently known as La Farge Cement, in 1991. The company consistently moved over 1.8 million tonnes of stones annually until the contract ended in 2001.

Another notable investment came in the year 1993 where together with the Taiwanese, Jetflo Robin was formed. The colaboration brought the first heavy industry high pressure hose manufacturer plant to Ipoh.
The group first venture into Property sector was in 1995 with a small/medium scheme in Bercham, Ipoh. That was subsequently followed by a Kg. Tersusun Project in Tanah Hitam, Taman Angkasa - Kampar, Taman Tawas Mutiara - Ipoh and others.
Our Mining subsidiary subsequently scored lucrative mining service contracts such Kimanis Quarry, Sabah - 2001, Perak Hanjoong Simen (subsidiary of YTL Cement), Kuala Kangsar - 2005, Tasek Cement, Tasek Industrial Park - 2008 and latest of all Imerys Mineral Malaysia, Simpang Pulai - 2010.
